The purpose of the presentation was twofold: to educate the inspection staff of the Town of Apex about the burgeoning solar industry and to provide guidance on the installation of safe and compliant solar systems. With solar energy rapidly gaining traction as a sustainable alternative to traditional power sources, it was imperative for the town’s employees to stay informed and equipped to handle the evolving landscape of solar installations.

The event saw an impressive turnout, with over 16 Town employees in attendance, alongside NC Solar Now staff and our solar distributor. In 2019, four years after the training session conducted by NC Solar Now and the Town of Apex, significant strides were made. The Mayor and Town Council proactively removed obstacles hindering solar photovoltaic (PV) system installations and introduced a series of solar-friendly policies. This overhaul aimed to streamline the process, making solar application, installation, and utilization more affordable, user-friendly, and accessible to Apex residents.
