The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is mobilizing its membership and the solar sector to make sure a provision in pending legislation includes an extension of the federal investment tax credit (ITC) before the deadline of Friday, July 9.
SEIA is asking people to email their two U.S. senators to urge them to contact Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., to make certain that solar energy is included in any tax extenders legislation moving forward this year.
“Chairman Hatch has set a Friday close-of-business deadline for consideration of inclusion in a tax extenders bill,” says Ken Johnson, vice president of communications for SEIA. “Right now, solar is not in it – and we’re doing everything possible to get in it.”
SEIA has made the process extremely simple for people to contact the senators. We kindly ask that people take a minute out of their days to support this important measure for solar.
SEIA has set up a Web page that lets people to contact their senators by email here .
