SEIA Pushes To Include ITC Extension in Tax Bill

The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is mobilizing its membership and the solar sector to make sure a provision in pending legislation includes an extension of the federal investment tax credit (ITC) before the deadline of Friday, July 9.

raleigh-16-spot-solarSEIA is asking people to email their two U.S. senators to urge them to contact Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., to make certain that solar energy is included in any tax extenders legislation moving forward this year.

“Chairman Hatch has set a Friday close-of-business deadline for consideration of inclusion in a tax extenders bill,” says Ken Johnson, vice president of communications for SEIA. “Right now, solar is not in it – and we’re doing everything possible to get in it.”

SEIA has made the process extremely simple for people to contact the senators. We kindly ask that people take a minute out of their days to support this important measure for solar.

SEIA has set up a Web page that lets people to contact their senators by email here .
